1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement made between you and Mada Ventures LLC, doing business as TheShedRegistry ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing the website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Informational Purposes Only (No Professional Advice)
TheShedRegistry is an independent data aggregator. We are NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB), the City of New York, or any government entity. The data provided on this site — including but not limited to active permit counts, insurance limits, and union status — is programmatically aggregated from public sources (such as NYC Open Data) and third-party contractor websites.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of this data. The information is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, compliance, or professional engineering advice. Users are solely responsible for independently verifying a contractor's licenses, insurance coverage, and Local Law 11 (FISP) compliance capabilities before entering into any contract. Mada Ventures LLC is not liable for any DOB fines, compliance failures, or damages resulting from the use of this directory.
3. Platform Role and Relationship
TheShedRegistry is not a general contractor and does not provide construction, scaffolding, or sidewalk shed services. We are not a party to any agreement between users and contractors. We do not endorse, recommend, or guarantee any contractor listed on this site. We are not responsible for any contractor's licensing, insurance, qualifications, or quality of work. TheShedRegistry acts solely as an information platform and lead referral service.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT: (A) CONTRACTOR INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, CURRENT, OR COMPLETE; (B) ANY CONTRACTOR IS LICENSED, INSURED, OR QUALIFIED TO PERFORM SERVICES; (C) CONTRACTORS WILL PROVIDE QUALITY SERVICES OR HONOR QUOTES; (D) THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR SECURE; OR (E) ANY INFORMATION PROVIDED BY GOVERNMENT SOURCES OR THIRD PARTIES IS UP TO DATE.
5. Limitation of Liability
IN NO EVENT SHALL MADA VENTURES LLC BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, PERSONAL INJURY, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THIS INCLUDES DAMAGES ARISING FROM: (A) YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE; (B) ANY CONTRACTOR'S SERVICES, CONDUCT, OR FAILURE TO PERFORM; (C) INACCURATE, INCOMPLETE, OR OUTDATED CONTRACTOR DATA; OR (D) ANY INTERACTIONS BETWEEN YOU AND ANY CONTRACTOR. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY AND ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mada Ventures LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your interactions with any contractor found through the Service; or (d) any inaccurate or misleading information you provide through the Service.
7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. For any disputes not subject to arbitration, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York County, New York.
8. Right to Correct and DMCA
We strive for accurate public data reporting. If you are a contractor and believe your publicly aggregated business data is inaccurate, you may request a correction or removal by contacting us at adam@madaventuresllc.com. We will process verified corrections within a commercially reasonable timeframe.
